This Privacy Policy explains how Petzio, operated by Maytham Ajam (“Petzio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, software, and related services.

1. What Petzio Does
Petzio provides communication software for pet boarding facilities, pet hotels, kennels, dog daycares, and similar businesses. Petzio helps facilities manage owner update requests and send photo, video, and note updates to pet owners.
Only businesses and facilities may create full Petzio accounts. Pet owners may access update links, portals, or other limited pages provided by a facility.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information.
Business Account Information
When a facility or staff member uses Petzio, we may collect:
- name
- email address
- profile image from Google OAuth, if used
- login and authentication information
- facility or business name
- facility contact email
- facility phone number
- facility address
- billing and subscription information
Pet Owner and Pet Information
Facilities may upload or enter information about pet owners and pets, including:
- pet owner name
- pet owner email address
- pet owner phone number
- pet names
- update preferences
- PIN or portal access information
- update requests
Pet Update Content
Facilities and staff may upload or submit:
- photos
- videos
- notes
- update messages
- request status information
- related communication records
Usage, Device, and Technical Information
We may collect information about how users interact with Petzio, including:
- pages viewed
- features used
- buttons clicked
- device type
- browser type
- IP address
- approximate location based on IP address
- logs and diagnostic information
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide and operate Petzio
- create and manage accounts
- authenticate users
- process subscriptions and billing
- send owner updates, update links, and service-related messages
- store and display photos, videos, notes, and update requests
- provide customer support
- improve product performance and usability
- monitor security and prevent abuse

- enforce our Terms of Service
4. Analytics and Session Replay
Petzio may use PostHog analytics and session replay to understand how users interact with the service and improve the product.
Session replay may record user interactions such as page views, clicks, scrolling, navigation, and other usage behavior. Petzio uses this information to troubleshoot issues, improve user experience, and understand how the service is used.
5. Emails and SMS Messages
Petzio may send transactional emails related to accounts, updates, billing, security, and service use. Petzio does not currently send marketing emails.
Petzio may send SMS messages to pet owners for update links, notifications, and service-related communication from the facility. SMS features may not be available in all plans or at all times.
6. Payments
Petzio does not directly store full payment card details.
Payments are handled by Polar and its payment providers. We may receive and store limited billing-related information, such as customer identifiers, subscription status, plan information, invoices, and payment status.
7. Who Can Access Pet Owner Updates
Pet owner updates may be accessed by:
- the pet hotel or facility
- authorized facility staff
- the intended pet owner through their update link or portal
- Petzio as needed to operate, maintain, secure, or support the service
Facilities are responsible for making sure they have permission to upload, store, and share pet owner information, pet names, photos, videos, notes, and updates through Petzio.
8. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal data. We do not use customer or pet owner data for advertising or retargeting.
We may share information with service providers that help us operate Petzio, including:
- Vercel for hosting
- Neon for database services
- Tigris for file and media storage
- Polar for payments and subscriptions
- Better Auth and Google OAuth for authentication
- Resend for email
- Twilio for SMS
- PostHog for analytics and session replay
We may also disclose information when required by law or when needed for security, fraud prevention, enforcing policies, or protecting Petzio, customers, users, or others.
9. Data Storage and International Processing
Petzio is currently intended for customers in the United States and Canada.
Petzio and its service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
10. Data Retention
Petzio keeps information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and support normal business operations.
Petzio may retain customer data for up to 30 days after cancellation, then may delete it unless required to keep it longer for legal, billing, security, or backup purposes.
11. Security
Petzio uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including access controls, secure authentication, encrypted connections, and limiting access to data to people and services that need it to operate Petzio.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal, billing, security, and operational limits.

Pet owners should understand that some information is controlled by the facility that uses Petzio. In some cases, we may direct pet owners to contact the facility responsible for their information.
13. Children’s Privacy
Petzio is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make major changes, we may notify customers by email, inside the app, or by posting a notice on our website.
Your continued use of Petzio after changes become effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
